Finding peace in your life

Finding peace in your lifeWhat is peace? Peace according to the dictionary is “the absence of mental stress or anxiety” So the empty spaces in life where you have no pressure or worry is what peace actually is.  In this present modern age finding peace in your life is treated as a fad or as something that can’t really be achieved. This happens because nobody cares to wonder or even try to achieve calm in life.

As for me I totally disagree that you can’t find peace and that’s why I am writing this article today, to teach you how it’s very possible to reach that stage of tranquility and comfort.

1. Deep Breathing

Deep breathing helps to remove stress from your body. When you’re stressed your muscles tense and you breathing becomes more shallow and fast. By breathing deeper in not just stressed moments of your life but every now and then every day you will begin to feel more calm and at peace.

2. Avoid Stressful Influences

In your life you’re always going to have people who are negative and carry a strong aura of negativity around them. You are also going to have negative news, negative stories and overall negative media. As you know negative things sell. So to find peace in your life you must try to avoid these negative influences as much as possible. There is no need to gain extra stress.

3. Count Your Blessings

You might laugh at this step, but seriously your mother was right. By simply counting your blessings you are looking at the positives of life automatically countering the negatives. This creates a positive mindset inside of you making you more stress-free and more peaceful person.

4. Learn to Get Over It and Move On

Most times it is our fault that we are stresses and anxious. The biggest problems you will have in your life will be the ones you make up in your mind. We as humans are hardwired to worry and regret. If you can simply say you know “I can’t change the past and I should move on.” You are already a bit more calm and in the long run more peaceful.

5. Smile and Laugh

This is the never-failing method in life to remove mental stress and anxiety and replace it with peace and calm. When you laugh you reach that moment in life where everything is forgotten and when you return you are lighter, calmer and peaceful.
Remember these steps aren’t in any particular order; use them all together to truly find peace in your life.
In the end I would like to present you a quote to help you on your journey to peace:
“Each one has to find his peace from within. And peace to be real must be unaffected by outside circumstances.”-  Mahatma Gandhi
